No two projects are the same.
It all starts with your product requirements, specification and scope. Drawing upon our extensive know how and experience in smart cards, security and payments, we select the best technology available to turn these requirements into your custom solution.
More than simply designing a product that works, RES takes a holistic, end to end approach.
From our R&D centre in Israel, RES draws on its extensive global network to provide you with a production ready solution.
RES Data Security has assembled a range of well tested and field proven technologies and design blocks.
By using these technologies in all phases of the project, from R&D to production , RES is able to compress the preparation times to quickly create complex new products.
What we can fit inside a smart card is truly incredible - RES can deliver your ideas in the familiar and convenient form factor of a regular plastic card.
Vast experience in developing products for multiple markets - payment cards, ID cards, physical and logical access cards - all compliant with industry standards including ISO7810 and ISO7816.
Have a specific request or a preferred secure element? No problem - RES has worked with multiple chip vendors and can even provide on card ISO7816 communication with the secure element.
Here are just just some of the technologies we provide:
The list of technologies is constantly evolving and RES is committed to remaining at the forefront of advanced card technology.
Ronen brings more than 30 years' experience and considerable expertise in embedded microelectronic systems. He started his career within the intelligence services of the Israeli Defense Forces before joining ECI, a major player in the global telecoms market, as R&D Team Leader. During this time, he became an expert in developing real-time embedded systems. In 2005, Ronen joined Citala, an Israeli company that developed display technologies and computerized active smartcards. At Citala he led the effort to develop next generation powered display card technology and was actively involved in a joint development effort with Visa Europe and Solicore. Following this initiative, Solicore (now called Brightvolt) acquired the smartcard business unit from Citala in 2011 and Ronen took on the role of CTO, Powered Card Products.
He holds several patents in the field of smartcards, most notably a method for communication between the payment chip and the electronics embedded within a card. His background gives Ronen a deep understanding in the design of flexible, ultra-low power microelectronic systems and the complex industrial process required for reliable mass production.
An avid trimix technical diver, Ronen can often be found exploring deep shipwrecks. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from IIS (Technion – Israel Institute of Technology).
